Lack of sleep has many wondering whether they can die from insomnia since we all experience sleeplessness at some point of our lives. Not sleeping will not lead to your death but there are different ways it will deteriorate your health because of sleep deprivation.
Adult need at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep every night but this depends on an individual seen some of them can function with only six hours of sleep. People usually, experience occasional cold and stomach bugs, but your body will be more susceptible when you are not maintaining your regular sleeping pattern. Taking care of the immune system means we have to get enough sleep every day so it can protect us from viruses and bacteria. You might experience high fevers at night time since the body naturally desires sleep and it will respond with a fever, and you might only prolong an illness when you are not resting.
People usually crave a lot of junk food when they have not rested well at night and this will only distract your ability to lose weight and maintain a healthy diet plus fatal familial insomnia can lead to death which is a rare case. Gaining a lot of weight only risks your health since you’re more likely to develop diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Lack of enough sleep can interfere with your sex drive plus it only increases the appearance of wrinkles, dull appearance, fine lines and dark circles under the eyes.
